Colonel Gintaras Bagdonas will be appointed director of the Vilnius-based NATO Energy Security Center of Excellence during an official ceremony on Tuesday.

He will replace Colonel Romualdas Petkevičius who headed the center since its establishment in July 2012.

Before his appointment, Bagdonas served as Lithuania's defence attaché in Latvia and Estonia, assistant chief of Staff Intelligence of the European Union Military Staff (EUMS) and director of the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania.
