PM Butkevičius told reporters on Thursday he would nominate Budbergytė, Lithuania's representative at the European Court of Auditors (ECA), for the post. The appointment has to be made by President Dalia Grybauskaitė.

The Lithuanian parliament on Thursday nominated Šadžius, a social democrat, for the job at the European Court of Auditors in a vote of 55 to 5 with 43 abstentions.

Budbergytė's six-year term at the European Court of Auditors ends in May.

Budbergytė confirmed to BNS on Wednesday she would run for the upcoming parliamentary elections as candidate of the Social Democratic Party.
