The Central Electoral Comission (VRK) on Wednesday annulled former Liberal Movement chairman Eligijus Masiulis' parliamentary powers and his parliamentary immunity along with them.

The removal of his immunity will begin on May 20th, according to the VRK's decision.

No separate election will be held to replace the Seimas position left by Maisulis after he resigned because the Seimas elections are to be held in less than 6 months. He was elected in the single-seat Marių district.

Masiulis resigned from his party and his Seimas position voluntarily following accusations by Lithuania's Special Investigation Service that he had accepted a bribe of more than €100,000 from the MG Baltic business group.
