Fourteen Belarusian citizens applied for asylum in Lithuania between August 11 and September 3, Rustamas Liubajevas, the commander of State Border Guard Service, told members of the opposition Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats' political group on Monday.

Their applications are currently being processed, he added.

Thirty-seven Belarusian citizens arrived in Lithuania during the period under special permission granted by the interior minister on humanitarian grounds.
