Lithuanian MP Naglis Puteikis was elected chairman of the Lithuanian Centre Party at a convention in Kaunas on Saturday as it launched its election campaign.

The party has decided to participate in the upcoming parliamentary election this year by inviting people to join an anti-corruption coalition.

Klaipėda University Professor Albinas Stankus, Panevėžys municipality council member Gema Umbrasienė and Ukmergė municipality member Nijolė Giedraitienė were elected as the vice-presidents of the party.

The Lithuanian Centre Party was established in 2003 by an initiative of Inpependence Act signatory Romualdas Ozolas.
