"All new cases have been recorded in Vilnius County. To be more precise, the majority of them are linked to personal parties. Four are linked to a party in Kernave, and one is linked to a party in Kalveliai," Rolanda Lingiene, director of the NPHC's Vilnius Department, told BNS on Monday.

In her words, two participants of the Kernave party and another two people linked to the infected participants have tested positive for the coronavirus over the past 24 hours.

A total of eight people attended the party and six of them later fell ill with COVID-19. Also two relatives have tested positive.

Another person has also tested positive for the virus after attended the Kalveliai party, Lingiene said.

"Out of the 15 people who attended the party, seven have already tested positive, and eight related people have also been infected," the NPHC representative said.

One imported coronavirus case has also been recorded in Vilnius County, she said. "There's an imported case from the United Kingdom but we have no details on it yet," Lingiene said.

A total of 1720 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Lithuanian by Monday. 309 people are still ill and 1,331 people have recovered.

71 people have died of the virus in Lithuania so far, and another nine, who had the virus, have died of other causes.
