The Lithuanian Armed Forces are starting an exercise of reconnaissance units on Monday involving about 200 troops.

The exercise will take place in the Kazlų Rūda, Šakiai, Vilkaviškis, Kaunas and Marijampolė districts where small groups of soldiers will conduct mobile reconnaissance tasks, the Defense Ministry said.

The exercise is intended to improve collective skills of reconnaissance officers of Land Forces in the use of vehicles, as well as unity the performance of collective tasks and facilitate exchange of experience and know-how.

The Defense Ministry warned residents of the regions hosting the exercise about pyrotechnics, military SUVs and trucks used by the participants of the exercise in day hours on September 19-23.
