"The National Public Health Center was informed today about a patient's death at Klaipeda University Hospital. The person died yesterday at 10.40 p.m. and belonged to the 51-60 age group," the specialist told journalists today.

"The person returned from Sweden to Estonia by ferry on May 28 and then drove to Lithuania in his own car. Already feeling the symptoms, the person was taken to Klaipeda University Hospital by an ambulance and the diagnosis was confirmed on May 29," she said.

Earlier in the day, the NPHC reported 74 deaths and ten other deaths of coronavirus-infected people of other causes.

Lingiene told BNS later the new death case would be included into the official statistics on Saturday.
