Only 12% of Lithuanians are planning to go on holidays abroad within the coming six months, according to a survey by Rait. Among Latvians, 18% are planning a foreign trip, as are a third (33%) of Estonians.

Among Lithuanians, those aged between 25 and 34 are the most travelling group, with 26% planning a trip abroad. Meanwhile senior Lithuanians are the least travelling, with only 4% planning to go abroad within the coming six months.

In terms of past trips, Latvians and Estonians have travelled twice more often than Lithuanians. Thirty-seven percent of Latvians and 35% of Estonians have been abroad over the last six months, compared to only 18% of Lithuanians.

The survey conducted last autumn involved 2,973 respondents in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
