Elering reported that in July this year, gas traders imported 4.4 million cubic metres of natural gas from Lithuania, according to Aripaev Online.

Last month, companies that imported gas from Lithuania included Baltic Energy Partners, Eesti Energia, Reola Gaas and Viru Keemia Grupp.

Via the natural gas transit pipeline through South-East Estonia, 533.9 cubic metres of gas moved from Russia to Latvia - 121 percent more than during the same period last year.

The surge in transit volume cannot be considered unusual, as it is likely that it is involved with the temporal change in filling the Incukalns subterranean gas reserve in Latvia (last year the operation was carried out in August and September). As of the end of July, the reserve storage facility was 54-percent full.
