The soon to be 30-year-old landed his side’s opening goal at the 27th minute mark of their 4:2 win over Queen of the South before 31,851 at the Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow.

He would be joined on the score sheet by teammates David Templeton (46’), Tunisian Bilel Mohsni (64’) and Kenny Miller (86’) who returns to Scotland after a two year stint in the Canadian league.
The Rangers now sit second on the Scottish Professional Football League below Heart of Midlothian, Žaliūkas’ former club from 2007-13.

During that time the Lithuanian would kick 11 goals across 185 games before spending last season with English Premier League side Leeds.

Žaliūkas has also played 24 International games for Lithuania, finishing runner up in the Lithuanian Football Federation’s “Player of the Year” title in 2011 to Žydrūnas Karčemarskas.

His only International goal would take place in Vilnius against Slovakia and would be his nation’s 1:1 equaliser in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.

The Lithuanian has signed a two year deal with the Rangers will now face off against Raith Rovers on September 12 away from home in a top three clash.
