"Our hope is to bring at least two medals," Gudzinevičiūtė said at the parliamentary Youth and Sports Affairs Commission presenting Lithuania's preparations for the summer games in Brazil.

She says the goal for Lithuanian athletes is to claim five "top positions", which is eighth spot and above.

In all, about 70 Lithuanians are to compete at Rio Games, Gudzinevičiūtė says.

Lithuania first participated in the Olympic Games in 1992 in Barcelona and has won medals in every summer games.
