Lithuanian goalkeeper Giedrius Arlauskis made his debut in the Spanish football league for Espanyol against Spanish giants Real Madrid on Sunday.

Real Madrid, managed by football legend Zinedine Zidane and with a galaxy of stars, peppered Arlauskis in the Espanyol goal. Real won the game 6:0.

“A bad day for a debut” wrote “The visitors did not show any sign of resistance and Real star spoiled Arlauskis’ debut” wrote the Associated Press.

Real scored four goals in the first 15 minutes of the games, with Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo hitting a hat-trick. In two matches this season Ronaldo has scored eight goals against Espanyol - no other player has done that in the Spanish Championship in this century.

The BBC wrote that “G.Arlauskis withstood the early Cristiano Ronaldo free kick well and cannot be blamed for three quick Real goals.”

Arlauskis was praised by the Spanish media as well. “Despite the six goals Arlauskis showed good skill in the air and playing with his feet” wrote
