"The steep rise in reporting is a result of reports about advertisement and distribution of narcotic substances (cannabis) on the Facebook social media – a total of 766 such reports came in," the agency said in a press release.

Some 253 of the reports resulted in further actions. Another 158 were forwarded to Internet providers of other countries about the unlawful content in their networks with a request for immediate removal, including 132 sent to Facebook administrators about cannabis distribution on the media.

Another 76 reports about images of sexual abuse of children was forwarded to hotlines of other countries. Sixteen were forwarded to the police for further investigation and three were sent to inspectors of journalists' ethics on suspicion of the information having a negative impact on minors.
