Vilnius police have seized a large amount of narcotic substances and detained persons suspected of organizing the smuggling ring.

In early February, individuals were busted in the Marijampolė county, southern Lithuania, with around 18 kg of cannabis and its components were apprehended aboard a Citroen car en route from Germany via Poland to Lithuania.

A few hours after the detention, the mastermind behind the scheme was detained. One of the detained persons is linked with criminal groups of the Vilnius county.

Two of the suspects have been put in custody for three months.
