A US serviceman early on Tuesday was caught urinating on the wall of the Interior Ministry's building in the center of Vilnius and was issued with a 15-euro fine by the police.

The 22-year-old serviceman was detained in Sventaragio Street at around 2:35 a.m., the Police Department said.

"He was sober. He was breathalysed," Paulius Radvilavicius, spokesman for the Vilnius county police, told BNS.

The police stated that the American had breached public order, which is punishable by a fine of 30 to 140 euros.

Given that the serviceman admitted his guilt, showed no resistance to police and committed such a violation in Lithuania for the first time, he was fined 15 euros.
