The University's chancellor Saulius Spurga told LNK television that the student, who is from Nigeria and is in his fourth year, had failed several other exams and therefore faced expulsion.

"When a manager informed the student [about a failed exam], he got nervous and angry, started threatening he would shoot people, he also mentioned the country's highest officials," Spurga said.

Three members of the university staff were witnesses to the incident. Mykolas Romeris University has filed a police report.
