According to the daily, the habits of celebrating the New Year's Eve has not changed much from earlier years – just like in earlier years, the biggest share of adult Lithuanian residents (44 pct) intend to spend the holiday at home with family, alone or with guests, while about one in six intended to visit relatives or friends.

Among those planning to stay at home are women, persons over the age of 50 and with lower income, while two in three pensioners will stay home alone or with family.

Very few polled Lithuanian residents intended spend the New Year's Eve in the nature or abroad – 1 percent each. 2 percent said they would go to the streets, 3 percent had restaurant, cafe or bar reservations.

According to the poll conducted by Baltijos Tyrimai (Baltic Surveys) company in late November through early December, a third of respondents were still undecided on the venue of celebrations.
