According to the court, the 35-year-old man, identified by his initials G. C., in the fall of 2012 told an accomplice to travel to Chile and bring a large amount of narcotic drugs, some 70 percent of which was cocaine, back to Lithuania.

The accomplice, who was paid 4,000 euros, illegally bought more than two kilograms of cocaine in Santiago. The man smuggled the drugs, hidden inside the lining of two empty laptop bags, to Lithuania two days later, but was caught at Palanga Airport.

The defendant did not admit to the offence.
