In its seventh year now, the Christmas of Books encourages people to donate good, new books to their libraries, the president's office said.

It noted that the campaign has grown into a nationwide movement involving library readers, communities, business and public organizations, publishers and writers, and foreign embassies.

Some 225,000 books have been donated since it was launched back in 2011.
