A Lithuanian Air Force helicopter is helping in the search for a drowning person in Latvia, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said.

The Lithuanian Navy's Marine Rescue Coordination Center received at around 3 p.m. on Monday a request from Latvia to send a helicopter to the neighboring country to help rescue a drowning person off the village of Nida.

The Lithuanian Air Force helicopter immediately took off from the Nemirseta search and rescue post for the rescue operation.
