KTU said that its council on Thursday decided to extend the deadline until May 28 to attract more applicants.

The university launched the search for a new rector last December after Petras Baršauskas stepped down amid suspicions of plagiarizing his habilitation thesis.

Jurgita Šiugždinienė is currently serving as acting rector of KTU.
