In what seems to be a phishing scam, the email purporting to be sent by the minister from the email account mobilephoneappxx@aol.com asks recipients to provide information on their cash balance, the ministry said.

The recipients of the email include the ministry's finance unit and a financial officer of a privately-owned company, the minister's spokesman Karolis Vaitkevičius said.
