A pre-trial investigation was launched in April upon receipt of information and persons well-known to the police and part of organized criminal gangs in Vilnius are engaged in the distribution of large amounts of drugs or psychotropic substances.

The decision was made in June to detain three persons, and around 3kg of cocaine, worth around 240,000 euros on the black market, were found during searches at the addresses.

More people might be detained as part of this investigation, police say.
