IWAV invites all who support this idea to come to its seventh Blossom of Hope’ charity gala on May 30 at the Merchants‘ Club in Vilnius.
Breast cancer affects many women across the globe, and is both distressing and painful to all involved. Diagnosing it early is crucial.
The aim of the seventh ‘Blossom of Hope’ event in the Lithuanian capital on May 30 is to improve the early diagnosis of breast cancer, and provide support to those who are forced to fight this terrible disease.
The proceeds from the event will be spent on biopsy needles and breast markers that will be donated to oncology hospitals in Vilnius, and in the other Lithuanian cities of Kaunas, Klaipėda and Šiauliai.
“Oncology hospitals in Lithuania are in constant need of essential medical equipment such as biopsy needles and breast markers that help detect cancer in its early stages,” says the Chairperson of the Blossom of Hope committee, Giusy Cappelli Bernardi.
“We believe with the collective effort of people who are not indifferent to this worthy cause, we can make a difference,” she continued.
“Seeing the gratitude in doctors’ eyes on the day the medical equipment purchased from proceeds of last year‘s event was delivered, was an experience I will never forget.
“Moments like that are what give the rest of the committee and I the drive to keep going with this cause,” she concluded.
Two auctions will take place during the event, the first of which will auction valuable jewellery, artwork, trips away and other items.
The dress code at this year’s event will take influence from the James Bond films. This will also be reflected in the live music performances.
Each year the event attracts around 150 attendees, and over the last six years, IWAV has spent €82,000 on the purchase of biopsy needles and breast markers.
Tickets for the 7th charity evening are available at firstname.lastname@example.org.
