Council of the Vilnius City Municipality on Tuesday dismissed Alma Vaitkunskienė as administrative director after she lost the mayor's confidence.

The proposal of Vilnius Mayor Remigijus Šimašius to sack Vaitkunskienė was supported by 25 members of the council in a secret ballot, while 21 were against and two ballots were damaged.

The mayor decided replace the administrative director after pulling out of the coalition with the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats.
