Skvernelis received 52.86 percent of votes, beating his challenger Kęstutis Masiulis of the conservative Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats with 44.5 percent.

The Homeland Union won 20 seats in a single national multi-member constituency two weeks ago, just ahead of the Peasant and Green Union with 19 seats.

With over a half of votes counted in the run-off round, the Peasants and Greens were leading in more than 30 single-member constituencies and the conservatives in only nine constituencies.
