"The prime minister has signed a proposal to appoint Gustas as acting minister of health," Butkevičius' spokesman Mindaugas Janulionis told BNS.

On Sunday, Butkevičius said that the post of acting health minister would probably be filled by Defence Minister Juozas Olekas, however, President Dalia Grybauskaitė stated on Monday she would not approve Olekas to head the Health Ministry on a temporary basis.
