Liudas Mažylis, professor at Vytautas Magnus University, and Andrius Kubilius, a former prime minister and now lawmaker, top the list of European Parliament election candidates of the Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD) after receiving the most preference votes from the conservative party's members last weekend.

MP Radvilė Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė was ranked third, followed by Rasa Juknevičienė, a former defense minister and now lawmaker, in fourth place and Audronius Ažubalis, a former foreign minister and now MP, in fifth position, based on preliminary figures provided by the party.

Aistė Gedvilienė, the party's executive secretary, underlined that the preferential voting results were not final and might still change.

The next European Parliament elections will be held next May.
