The liberals won 98 seats during the last local elections in 2011 and ranked seventh. The party jumped to the third place with 216 mandates following the Sunday vote.

The Social Democratic Party of Lithuania has increased the number of its mandates from 328 to 365, and the conservative Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats have come in second with 249 mandates (247 in 2011).
