Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė is critical of the Labour Party's decision to recall its minister Dainius Pavalkis from the Ministry of Education and Science, saying that there are other ministers delegated by the party that are doing much worse.

"I think a decision in connection to the minister's future should not be made in a rush, especially since there are ministers who are doing worse, far worse," Grybauskaitė told journalists at the President's Office on Monday.

"I believe there are more problems at the Social Security Ministry today, not the Education Ministry," the president said when asked to specify the underperforming ministers.

Lithuania's Social Security and Labour Ministry is headed by Algimanta Pabedinskienė of the Labour Party.

The decision to recall Pavalkis from office was made by the Labour Party's council on Sunday.

The president said the Labour Party was recalling Pavalkis, as he was "not executing all the orders that are not entirely transparent".

Meanwhile, the Labour Party said the minister had failed to implement the party's program.
