Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius on Tuesday sent an official letter to President Dalia Grybauskaitė in which he proposes that Energy Minister Jaroslav Neverovič be dismissed from his post.

"I can confirm that the letter has been dispatched. It is being delivered by a courier. This is the usual procedure for sending documents between institutions," Rita Grumadaitė, the prime minister's spokeswoman, told BNS.

Neverovič came under fire after the re-appointment his fellow party member, Renata Cytacka, as his deputy against the prime minister’s will.

Prime Minister Butkevičius has repeatedly reproached Neverovič for Cytacka's behavior.

The vice-minister made headlines when she called President Dalia Grybauskaitė "a liar" in public and when she did not raise the Lithuanian flag outside her house in the district of Šalčininkai on two Lithuanian public holidays.
