"He started working today," Audris Kutrevičius, spokesman for the Justice Ministry, told BNS.

Before the appointment, Ruseckas worked at the Central Project Management Agency, which is responsible for administration of projects and programs financed by the European Union (EU), various international institutions, state and other funds in Lithuania and abroad. He was also an expert at the state-run energy holding Lietuvos Energija.

Ruseckas has a master's degree in law from the Vilnius University.

He took one of the two vacant positions of justice vice-ministers. Former vice-ministers Justas Pankauskas and Paulius Griciūnas stepped down in September after the Social Democratic Party decided to leave the ruling coalition with the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union.
