"I will not make my final decision until I have full information," said Skvernelis.
"I received answers to all of the questions I asked, however, there is still a possibility that I had to check and this is a fact – checks in the case have been launched by both prosecutors and the Financial Crime Investigation Service," the prime minister told journalists.
In his words, check of the circumstances by the law-enforcement will take under 10 days, followed by a decision about opening a pre-trial investigation.
The 15min.lt news website has reported recently that Markauskas' mother, Sofija Markauskienė, has been using several plots of land in the district of Klaipėda without the landowners' permission for five to six years and that she has been receiving payments from the National Paying Agency for that land. The minister dismissed this as an unintentional mistake.
