At the request of Vilnius prosecutors, the Central Electoral Commission lifted the candidates' legal immunity.

"Conversations and text messages among the individuals raise a suspicion that they were talking about buying votes," Prosecutor Linas Kuprusevičius said at the commission's meeting on Friday.

In the elections to local governments last Sunday, the Lithuanian Freedom Union (liberals) secured a total of 10.53 percent of votes and won three mandates.
