At Wednesday's press conference in the Seimas, he said that "there will be plenty of candidates". "There may be nearly 600 lists of candidates, around 14,000-16,000 people will enter the elections," said Vaigauskas.

According to him, 58 public election committees have been registered in 30 municipalities. "Lists of candidates will be registered if the needed number of votes is collected," said the VRK chairman.

The VRK has registered 18 political parties, which nominate lists of candidates in every municipality.

The VRK will publish information publications in every municipality. Moreover, regional television networks will broadcast TV debates dedicated to the upcoming elections.
