He would assume the position on Nov. 6, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' nomination.

Vasiulis is currently an ambassador-at-large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He has already been backed by the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs and still needs the government's nomination and official appointment by the president.
