During an audience with Pope Francis in Vatican, Speaker of the Lithuanian parliament Loreta Graužinienė invited him for a papal visit to Lithuania. The pope thanked for the invitation.

Graužinienė also presented a gift to Pope Francis - a silver medallion with an image of the Gate of Dawn in Vilnius. The pope expressed his gratitude and asked to pray for him.

On 19-23 April the speaker of the Seimas paid a visit to Rome where she attended the Conference of the Speakers of the European Union Parliaments, the final parliamentary dimension event of the Italian presidency of the Council of the European Union.
