"We do not have official data about injuries or deaths of Lithuanian citizens," Kęstutis Vaskelevičius, spokesman for the Lithuanian foreign minister, said on Friday morning.

At least 80 people were killed when a truck crashed into a crowd of people gathered on a promenade in Nice, southern France, to observe fireworks of the Bastille Day.

The driver was gunned down after driving about 2km along the palm-lined Promenade des Anglais filled with festive people.

Lithuanian leaders have conveyed condolences over what the French president has termed terrorist attack.

Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė strongly condemned the unjustifiable violence, her press service said.

"On behalf of all people of Lithuania, the president wished strength and fortitude to the victims' families and unity and harmony to all people of France," reads the press release.

Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius emphasized in his message that the act of terror was a meaningless and reprehensible way of achieving political goals, the government's press service said.

"I express my deep condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, all people of France who have been affected by the horrific attack committed on the National Holiday. I wish harmony in the difficult hour of loss, also health and fortitude to the injured," said the head of the Lithuanian government.
