Hungary's new defense attaché to Lithuania was accredited on Monday, the Defense Ministry said.

Lieutenant Colonel Jozsef Szabo replaces Lieutenant Colonel Tamas Melke, it said.

Prior to his appointment as defense attaché, Szabo, a graduate of the National Defense University in Budapest, worked in various units of the Hungarian Defense Ministry.

Hungary's defense attaché to Lithuania is based on Warsaw.

The country has deployed troops to Lithuania for exercises and also helps Lithuania to train its Air Force personnel.
