Grybauskaitė will be in Kiev on Sunday, 22 February.

Her press service told BNS that the Dignity Rally will be held to pay tribute to the memory of those killed in the Maidan. Other participants at the event will include Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko, Poland's President Bronislaw Komorowski, Latvia's President Andris Berzins, European Council President Donald Tusk, as well as families of those killed, Maidan participants and representatives of international and local organizations.

Started in the autumn of 2013, the Ukrainian Euromaidan movement overturned the pro-Russian leader Viktor Yanukovych after he refused to sign Ukraine's association agreement with the European Union (EU) in Vilnius on 21 November 2013. The refusal triggered a chain of bloody events, which claimed dozens of lives of the so-called Maidan protesters.

After Yanukovych lost his post, Russia annexed Ukraine's Crimean peninsula last March, and Kremlin-supported separatists took control of swathes of eastern Ukraine.
