On October 11-15, the delegates are scheduled to meet with German Bundestag President Norbert Lammert, chairpersons of Defence and European Affairs Committees members of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the state secretary of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

After the Board of the Seimas on Wednesday approved the delegation's visit to Germany, parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee member Audronius Ažubalis, representing the opposition Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats, criticized the decision to vote down a proposal to send a Seimas delegation to Germany, Austria and Hungary to see the refugee crisis in person.

Seimas Vice-Speaker Vydas Gedvilas said there were no objection in the Board to the Foreign Affairs Committee's proposal but it was agreed to make the final decision on such a visit after the speaker returns from Germany.

Lithuania has agreed to take in 1,105 refugees over the next two years as part of the EU effort to help Southern European countries to deal with a huge influx of migrants.
