Lithuania will open an honorary consulate in the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

On Friday, Lithuania's Foreign Vice-Minister Mantvydas Bekešius met with recently-appointed first Honorary consul to Saudi Arabia Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz who is now on his first visit in Lithuania.

In the vice-minister's words, Lithuanian businesses are very interested in the Saudi Arabian market, as Saudi Arabia imports as many as 80 percent of its food.
