The guests were interested in information and communication technology, food industry and other projects.

"The UAE is one of the most important economic partners of this region, having huge potential. Lithuanian products are in demand in this market. We are open to active cooperation in many areas" the prime minister was quoted as saying in a statement.

The head of the Lithuanian government paid attention to the importance of diplomatic relations and the recent decision to open the two countries' embassies in Lithuania and the UAE.

Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori visited Lithuania last week.

Lithuania's exports to the UAE jumped 73 percent last year, and bilateral trade turnover reached 136 million euros.
