This marks the first visit by a foreign minister of the African country to Lithuania.

The Angolan foreign minister and his Lithuanian counterpart, Linas Linkevičius, plan to discuss possibilities for more intensive bilateral economic, energy and security cooperation and exchange views on the political and security situation in Africa, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said.

Lithuania and Angola established diplomatic relations in 2002.
