Asked whether Trump's election as US president may have an impact on the Lithuanian-US ties and the regional security situation in general, 39 percent said nothing would change, 27 percent chose an answer “things may change for the worse, as the international environment is becoming unpredictable,” while another 8 percent said the situation should improve.

The poll was conducted for the Foreign Ministry by public opinion and market research center Vilmorus.

The Foreign Ministry told BNS that the survey of 1,002 residents was carried out on Dec. 2-10.

Trump's statements favoring Russian President Vladimir Putin has triggered concerns in Lithuania and other countries in the region, as well as his words about NATO being outdated.
