The newly appointed Minister of Energy Rokas Masiulis says that he will decide on the directions of his policies after he better studies costs of major energy projects.

"One of the directions I would like to emphasise regarding energy projects is the cost. We must manage costs in the energy sector, ensure the return for investors, but it cannot be excessive," said Masiulis.

The minister gave an example from his experience in oil company Klaipėdos Nafta when the timely and accurate calculation of costs is believed to bring tangible benefit in the future.

"The liquefied natural gas terminal that is being constructed in Poland required considerably more funds, meanwhile, the cost in Lithuania was balanced. Should the terminals compete in the future, the Lithuanian terminal should have an advantage," said the minister.
