LESTO and Lietuvos Dujos will finalize the process on January 1, 2016, a new company called AB Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius (ESO, Energy Distribution Operator) will be created.

Mr. Masiulis told the Žinių Radijas radio: “We aspire to make the activities more transparent, combine them where the operations overlap, that would be the main objective. <…> After the merger, the costs for the company should begin to fall and prices for the consumers should also get lower the following year. Two companies will be merged, some property will be no longer needed, one person will be able to perform two functions instead of two people.”
