Šaučikovas, 44, studied business administration at Vilnius University from 1991 to 1995 and then the same at Jean Moulin University in Lyon, France. After studies in France, Šaučikovas worked in marketing, customer service and sales at different companies until 2001, and after that at media and PR companies, being in charge of Lithuanian sales for the Swedish media group MTG from 2001 to 2004 and as CEO of the same company from 2004 to 2008. From 2009 to 2014, Šaučikovas was General manager and member of the board of the communication agencies group Publicum Group.

Sven Nuutmann, CEO of AS Eesti Meedia, owner of 15Min and BNS Lithuania, said he highly values Saucikovas' long-time management experience in media, marketing and PR. "I am confident that under Šaučikovas' management, 15Min and BNS Lithuania will actively continue developing investigative and free journalism and will soon achieve the position of market leader," Nuutmann said.

He said that the role of 15Min and BNS Lithuania in exposing corruption in state owned companies and making public unethical schemes in private business has been noteworthy. "Eesti Meedia is absolutely determined to contribute further still to this kind of journalism," Nuutmann said.

Saucikovas said: "15min and BNS Lithuania teams are doing professional job, which only can be admired from the side. I will be happy to join this team and to contribute to further its development."

The new chief of Eesti Meedia's media business in Lithuania has been appointed after Tomas Balžekas left the company in February amid disagreements with shareholders over development strategy.
