Lidl, which is due to open a raft of stores across Lithuania in the coming months, has signed up a number of major Lithuanian food companies to supply its outlets, indicating it may open as early as the beginning of June.

Dairy company Vilkyškių Pieninė, Citma and fruit and vegetable wholesalers Kietaviškių Gausa, meat processor Klaipėdos Mėsinė have all signed contracts with the German retailer, Verslo Žinio reports.

The fact that the first goods will be supplied at the end of May may indicate Lidl could open it stores across Lithuania in early June.
